Final Gravity is a quarterly print zine publishing personal, human-centered stories from the world of beer. We are working hard to make sure FG presents a diverse array of voices. To date, 60% of our writers have been women or non-binary, and 38% have been persons of color. It's quite a contrast from the industry norm. WHY DO WE WANT YOUR MONEY? So we can pay our writers and artists and underwrite production costs for the zine. This is an old school, staple-bound, 8.5” x 5.5” paper zine produced in the proud DIY zine-making tradition. Despite this grassroots approach, Final Gravity features paid writing and artwork, professional editing, clean and attractive formatting, and good production quality. That costs money, and your support will keep this project sustainable and allow us to appropriately compensate our creators. Note: About 90% of our operational costs go to paying our writers and artists. That’s what your money is mostly going to. WHAT IS FINAL GRAVITY ALL ABOUT? Final Gravity exists to tell intimate, human-centered stories about beer. The zine features writing focused on people, places, cultural intersections, and the holistic ways we interact with and around beer. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SUPPORTING US ON PATREON? Benefits break down in two groups: stuff you get here on Patreon, and stuff you get outside Patreon. Every patron at every level gets the first group: exclusive Patreon content including (but not limited to) behind-the-scenes posts about producing a zine, b-roll photos and excerpts from our articles and interviews, videos, short articles about our lives in beer, and photos of our cat. Again: photos of our cat. That alone is worth the cost. Patrons will also receive additional benefits outside Patreon depending on their level of support. These are best explained in the Tiers section, but include packs of beer prints and cards, a subscription to Final Gravity, other zines in the Bean to Barstool catalog, and shoutouts on other platforms, depending on the level you choose. There is a professional tier that includes free advertising as well! We’re super excited to offer this zine, and we hope you’ll become a patron to help us pay our writers and artists!
