Description
Heyos! I intend release weekly/biweekly updates on my projects. I would generally prefer to spend 1 to 3 months on a given project and would like to try out various concepts before settling on one game to 'commit' to. As interest increases, I will restructure things and possibly create more tiers, you know. Background My latest project was Slime Dungeon and served as a 'tech demo' of what Twine can do. I believe Twine, the interactive fiction game program, can be used to create incredible games that defy expectations. Slime Dungeon was created from scratch (except for some JS code courtesy of the wonderful Twine community), and took a lot of trial and error, probably 100+ hours of work. But now that the engine has been built, creating more content for it or creating similar games will be a piece of cake! Intentions I would like to keep creating Dungeon Crawlers/JRPGs but will probably experiment with the format and do smaller games between those releases (say, 1 on 1 battles without any scenes between fights), or just interactive stories. One day I'd like to create a proper title with hours worth of content and a long storyline, and custom assets, but for now I'm content to keep tinkering until I'm totally sure of the story I wanna tell. The Plan What you'll see here are mostly posts relating to Slime Dungeon, and once that project's at a satisfactory amount of completion, I will work on Sonderweg (with some maintenance/light work on Slime Dungeon thereafter). There may be a separate Subscribestar for that project once it's at a level of completion that's impressive and worth 'alpha testing'. It's a sci-fi game so if you see anything of that theme, it's probably Sonderweg. Once I have a large and varied code base, I intend to keep using it to make more Twine games, ideally as separate projects rather than one big sprawling messy one. If you're familiar with the old Telltale Games studio's niche of reusing one game engine/code base to create dozens of new stories, then that's my most likely projection for seeing some game dev success. Not going to be the next Toby Fox but if I can make a few hundred from crowdfunding per month, then I can work my full-time job 4 days a week instead of 5, more game dev time! Your Support I really appreciate the community's support, in all forms. Comments, faves, and watches have helped nudge me on even when progress has been slow, tedious, frustrating. I'll still keep doing what I do, even if I don't 'make it big'. All contributions will help a lot towards getting art and other content (like music) to accompany games/stories and make it the best it can be!
