Who Are We? Hi there! I'm Todd, director and writer for Visual Novel Village. We are a small, independent game development studio focused on interactive storytelling via visual novels! Though based in the United States, we have team members around the world. Our first game, Student Union , was fully funded on Kickstarter in August 2020, and we have been working diligently targeting release in 2022. Student Union is a choice-driven, dark romance for a mature audience that will boast more than 40 hours of content across many branching routes. If you'd like to check it out, a free demo is available on Windows, Mac, or Android devices, which can be downloaded from our Steam or Itch.io pages. Why Patreon? There are two reasons we want to build a presence here with our audience. First, I've fielded countless emails and direct messages from fans who've played the demo, missed the Kickstarter campaign, and want to know how they can currently support development. This platform allows us to exchange more value for that support. Second, we're a little team with big ambitions, evidenced by the huge scope of our first project! That long runway translates to many months if not years from each project to the next. We are dedicated to pumping heart, soul, and plenty of blood into Student Union and all our future games. Small businesses like ours face an uphill climb to maintain financial stability over long periods without revenue— it's a challenging model that takes adaptive strategy. However, having monthly support through Patreon mitigates the risks faced over long hauls and empowers us to charge ahead. What Do You Receive For Subscribing? At our Villager tier: On the first day of every month, we provide an update on our development progress along with art and music showcases. Visual Novel Village · Gray Glow We will occasionally share sketches or behind-the-scenes design art. Any Patrons of more than three months will receive a digital copy of our games on release and will have their names credited in-game. Finally, subscribers gain access to community polls to have an active say in the game's development as well as a unique Patron role in our Discord server . As we continue to grow, we may be able to add additional membership tiers and showcase Patreon-only artwork, short stories, and much more! Thank you for your consideration.
